By using this Website, submitting information through the Website, requesting an appointment or estimate, communicating with Sonoma Auto Tech electronically, or authorizing services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Website or submit information through it.

Sonoma Auto Tech is an automotive repair business providing vehicle inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and related automotive services.

These Terms apply to services provided by Sonoma Auto Tech unless a separate written agreement, estimate, invoice, warranty, or other service-specific document expressly provides different terms.

2. Website Use

The Website is provided for general informational and business purposes, including providing information about Sonoma Auto Tech’s services and allowing customers to contact the business.

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the Website accurate and current. However, service descriptions, pricing, availability, promotions, coupons, photographs, and other information may change without notice.

Information displayed on the Website does not constitute a binding repair estimate unless Sonoma Auto Tech expressly identifies and provides it as an estimate for a specific vehicle and repair.

3. Repair Estimates and Authorization

California law requires automotive repair dealers to provide customers with estimates and obtain authorization before performing repairs, subject to applicable exceptions.

Sonoma Auto Tech will provide estimates as required by applicable California law. Estimates may identify anticipated labor, parts, and other applicable charges.

No repair work or charge for additional work will be authorized solely because information appears on this Website.

Before performing repairs, Sonoma Auto Tech will obtain the customer’s authorization in an appropriate manner, which may include written, oral, telephone, email, text message, or other legally permitted electronic authorization.

California law permits electronic authorization, including authorization by text message, provided the authorization is appropriately documented.

4. Additional Repairs and Changes to an Estimate

During inspection, diagnosis, or repair, Sonoma Auto Tech may discover additional problems or conditions that were not apparent when the original estimate was prepared.

When additional work or charges are identified, Sonoma Auto Tech will communicate the applicable information to the customer and obtain authorization before performing additional repairs, as required by California law.

Customers may authorize additional work by an appropriate electronic method, including text message, when available.

California law requires additional authorization before work beyond the original estimate is performed or additional charges accrue.

5. Electronic and Text Message Authorizations

If you authorize Sonoma Auto Tech to communicate with you by text message, Sonoma Auto Tech may use text messaging to provide information relating to your vehicle and repair transaction.

Other communications reasonably related to services requested by you.

Electronic communications and authorizations may be retained as part of the applicable repair transaction and business records.

California Bureau of Automotive Repair regulations specifically contemplate electronic authorization and require applicable electronic authorization records to include information such as the date, time, authorizing person’s name, and telephone number or email address used for the authorization.

6. SMS/Text Messaging Terms
Consent to Receive Text Messages

If you voluntarily provide your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opt in to receive SMS/text messages from Sonoma Auto Tech, you consent to receive text messages from Sonoma Auto Tech at the mobile number you provided.

Depending on the type of consent you provide, messages may include transactional/service-related communications and, if separately authorized, promotional or marketing communications.

Your consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing goods or services from Sonoma Auto Tech.

Providing consent to receive SMS messages does not require you to purchase any product or service.

Message Frequency

Message frequency may vary depending on your interaction with Sonoma Auto Tech, your vehicle’s repair status, appointments, authorizations, and other communications.

For marketing messages, message frequency may vary.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard messaging and data rates may apply to SMS messages sent to or received from Sonoma Auto Tech.

Sonoma Auto Tech does not control carrier charges, network availability, or other fees imposed by your wireless provider.

How to Opt Out

You may withdraw your consent to receive SMS messages at any time.

To stop receiving text messages, reply:

STOP

You may also use other reasonable language such as UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPT OUT to indicate that you no longer wish to receive text messages.

After receiving an opt-out request, Sonoma Auto Tech will process the request in accordance with applicable law and will stop sending messages covered by the revocation, subject to any legally permitted or technically necessary confirmation message.

A request to stop marketing messages will not necessarily prevent Sonoma Auto Tech from communicating with you through other methods or from sending communications that are necessary to provide services you have requested, where legally permitted.

For example, if you have an active vehicle repair transaction, Sonoma Auto Tech may still need to communicate with you about your vehicle, estimate, authorization, payment, or other transaction-related matters through an appropriate method.

Re-Opting In

If you previously opted out of SMS messages and later want to receive them again, you may provide a new affirmative opt-in through an available Sonoma Auto Tech enrollment method.

Supported Carriers

SMS availability may depend on your wireless carrier and network.

Sonoma Auto Tech does not guarantee that every message will be delivered successfully or immediately. Delivery may be affected by factors outside Sonoma Auto Tech’s control, including wireless carrier networks, geographic coverage, technical limitations, device settings, and network outages.

No Guarantee of Emergency Communication

SMS communications are not an emergency communication service. Do not rely on text messages from Sonoma Auto Tech for emergency roadside assistance, emergency medical services, or other emergencies.

7. SMS Consent Records

Where applicable, Sonoma Auto Tech may maintain records relating to SMS consent, including the telephone number, date and time of consent, method of enrollment, applicable consent language, and opt-out requests.

Sonoma Auto Tech may use third-party SMS or communications providers to facilitate text messaging. Such providers may process information necessary to deliver messages on Sonoma Auto Tech’s behalf.

Sonoma Auto Tech will not sell your mobile telephone number or SMS opt-in information to third parties for their own unrelated marketing purposes.

8. Appointment Requests

Submitting an appointment request through the Website does not necessarily create a confirmed appointment.

An appointment is confirmed only when Sonoma Auto Tech confirms the appointment through an appropriate communication.

Customers should provide accurate contact information when requesting an appointment.

If you need to cancel or change an appointment, please contact Sonoma Auto Tech as soon as reasonably possible.

9. Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis

Automotive diagnosis and inspection are based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection and the information reasonably available to Sonoma Auto Tech.

A diagnostic inspection may identify symptoms or probable causes without guaranteeing that every underlying problem will be discovered before further testing or disassembly.

Additional diagnosis, inspection, testing, or disassembly may be necessary to determine the cause or extent of a problem.

Any diagnostic or inspection charges will be disclosed and authorized as required by applicable law.

10. Parts and Materials

Parts used in repairs may be new, used, rebuilt, remanufactured, reconditioned, or aftermarket, depending on the repair, availability, customer authorization, vehicle requirements, and applicable law.

Where required by California law, the applicable estimate and/or invoice will identify the type of replacement part used.

Customers should review their estimate before authorizing repairs.

11. Customer-Requested Parts

If a customer requests or supplies a particular part, brand, component, or material, the customer should communicate that request before the repair is authorized.

Customer-supplied parts may be subject to limitations regarding compatibility, installation, performance, and warranty.

Sonoma Auto Tech may decline to install a customer-supplied part when, in its reasonable judgment, the part is unsafe, defective, incompatible, damaged, incorrect for the vehicle, or otherwise unsuitable.

Any limitations associated with customer-supplied parts should be addressed in the applicable estimate or invoice.

12. Replaced Parts

California law provides customers with certain rights concerning replaced parts.

A customer who wants replaced parts should request them when authorizing the repair. Certain parts, including parts subject to exchange/core programs or parts required to be returned to a supplier under warranty, may be subject to legal or practical exceptions. In such circumstances, the customer may have an opportunity to inspect the parts.

13. Repair Warranty

Any warranty provided by Sonoma Auto Tech applies only according to the specific written warranty terms provided to the customer.

If a written warranty is provided with a repair, that warranty controls the applicable warranty period, covered parts or labor, exclusions, and conditions.

Unless expressly stated in writing, Sonoma Auto Tech does not represent that every repair or part is covered by a particular warranty.

Manufacturer warranties, parts warranties, extended service contracts, insurance coverage, and third-party warranties are separate from any warranty provided directly by Sonoma Auto Tech.

Customers should review their invoice and warranty documentation carefully.

14. Vehicle Manufacturer Warranty

Customers may have rights under applicable vehicle manufacturer warranties and California or federal law.

The use of an independent automotive repair facility does not, by itself, automatically void a vehicle manufacturer’s warranty. Customers should review the applicable manufacturer warranty for specific requirements.

15. Estimates, Pricing, Taxes, and Final Charges

Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices displayed on the Website are informational and may not represent the final price for a particular vehicle.

The final price may depend on the vehicle, parts required, labor required, diagnostic findings, customer-authorized additional repairs, applicable taxes, fees, and other circumstances.

Sonoma Auto Tech will follow applicable California requirements concerning estimates, authorizations, invoices, and additional charges.

California law generally prohibits an automotive repair dealer from performing work or accruing charges beyond the applicable estimate without the customer’s required authorization.

16. Payment

Payment is due according to the terms stated on the applicable invoice or repair documentation.

Customers are responsible for paying authorized charges for parts, labor, diagnosis, inspection, storage, and other applicable services or charges disclosed and permitted by law.

If payment is disputed, the customer should promptly contact Sonoma Auto Tech so the matter can be reviewed.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive any rights a customer has under applicable California law.

17. Vehicle Storage and Pickup

Customers are responsible for retrieving their vehicle when notified that authorized work has been completed or when Sonoma Auto Tech otherwise requests that the vehicle be picked up.

Any storage charges, if applicable, will be handled in accordance with applicable California law and disclosed as required.

Sonoma Auto Tech may exercise any rights and remedies available under applicable law concerning unpaid repair charges, abandoned vehicles, storage, liens, or other matters.

18. Customer Information

When you submit information through the Website or communicate with Sonoma Auto Tech, you agree to provide accurate information.

Information may include your name, telephone number, email address, vehicle information, VIN, license plate information, appointment information, repair history, and other information necessary to provide services.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with Sonoma Auto Tech’s Privacy Policy.

A separate Privacy Policy should be maintained on the Website and linked from the footer.

19. Third-Party Services and Links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites, services, maps, payment processors, scheduling services, social media platforms, or other third-party resources.

Sonoma Auto Tech does not control third-party websites or services and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or terms.

Your use of third-party services is subject to the applicable third party’s terms and policies.

20. Website Content

The content of the Website is provided for general informational purposes.

While Sonoma Auto Tech makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information, the business does not guarantee that all Website content will always be complete, accurate, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Sonoma Auto Tech may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue Website content or features at any time.

21. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the Website and its content, including text, logos, graphics, photographs, branding, design, and other materials, are owned by or licensed to Sonoma Auto Tech and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, transmit, sell, or commercially exploit Website content without prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law.

22. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the Website:

For unlawful purposes;
To submit fraudulent or misleading information;
To interfere with the operation or security of the Website;
To attempt unauthorized access to systems or data;
To introduce malicious code or harmful software;
To impersonate another person or business; or
In any manner that violates applicable law.
23. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sonoma Auto Tech will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Website or inability to use the Website.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or remedies that consumers are entitled to under California law.

24. No Waiver of Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate any non-waivable rights or protections provided to customers under federal, California, or other applicable law.

Sonoma Auto Tech will comply with applicable requirements governing automotive repair transactions, including applicable California Bureau of Automotive Repair requirements.

California’s Bureau of Automotive Repair states that customers generally have rights to receive estimates, authorize repairs before work begins, receive notice and authorize additional repairs, and receive a final invoice.

25. California Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, except to the extent that applicable federal law requires otherwise.

Any dispute will be subject to the applicable laws and jurisdiction of California, subject to any consumer rights or legal requirements that provide otherwise.

26. Changes to These Terms

Sonoma Auto Tech may update these Terms from time to time.

The updated version will be posted on this Website with a revised Effective Date.

Your continued use of the Website after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

Changes to SMS consent will not be treated as retroactive consent. Where applicable, Sonoma Auto Tech will obtain any new consent required by law.

27. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

28. Entire Agreement

These Website Terms and Conditions, together with any applicable Privacy Policy, written estimate, repair authorization, invoice, warranty, or other service-specific agreement, constitute the applicable agreement concerning the subject matter addressed by those documents.

If there is a conflict between these general Website Terms and a specific written repair estimate, authorization, invoice, or warranty, the specific document will control for that particular transaction to the extent permitted by law.
